L-BOOGIE

The L-Boogie Team is made up of the loyal and dedicated students of master step instructor Lamont Hampton. Comprised of a group of ethnically diverse step aerobic aficionados, the L-Boogie Team is much more than a group of fitness-minded men and women. Over the years of stepping together, the group has come to embody the essence of camaraderie, family, support, love, and community. It was out of The L-Boogie Team’s sense of community and camaraderie that the Over The Top Step Aerobics Competition and SuMont Productions Step Aerobics Home Video were born. The team came together to devote their varied professional skills and talents – which span the fields of marketing, promotions, finance, law, psychology, art, music, and beyond – to the development of the fitness-related projects of SuMont Productions, Inc. The Over The Top Step competition is envisioned by the team as a chance to join steppers from across the country in the celebration of their favorite fitness form. And while the step competition will involve steppers nationwide, the Step Aerobics Home Video will reach an audience that is worldwide! Translated into multiple languages, the video will feature Hampton’s never-before-seen choreography and bring the L-Boogie step phenomenon into the homes of steppers around the world. The L-Boogie Team achieved acclaim for their performance at the 2004 Women Fitness Day event at Gold's Gym NYC, which aired on ABC News on October 30th, 2004.  The newscast aired at 7pm and was viewed by 4.2 million people. It was aired again at 11pm and viewed by 8 million people. The group also has participated in local promotional events for companies such as Adidas. L-Boogie Team is available for booking.

SUMONT PRODUCTIONS STEP AEROBICS HOME VIDEO

SuMont Productions is currently producing a home fitness video that will allow steppers to exercise in their very own living rooms. At SuMont Productions, Inc., we believe that a healthy lifestyle starts at home. Aerobics Home Video will showcase real people from all fitness levels performing the innovative choreography of master instructor Lamont Hampton. The video will bring the camaraderie and energy that characterizes Hampton’s classes directly into steppers’ homes. No matter your level of fitness or degree of step experience, you’ll be able to step with a high-energy, high-powered virtual class without leaving home. With Hampton’s excellent instruction, you will “step up” your level of fitness in the comfort of your own home.

The Step Aerobics Home Video will be distributed for sale worldwide by SuMont Productions, Inc. and will be the first in a series of home step videos to be produced by the company. Other videos scheduled for production include Step Aerobics For Children, Body Conditioning, and a Personal Training Video. The videos will be translated into multiple languages for worldwide distribution, in reflection of the diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds of the steppers in Hampton’s classes (The “L-Boogie Team”). SuMont Productions home videos will help men and women, adults and children stay in shape and have a blast, encouraging families to spend time together in a fun, healthful way.

KIDS' PROGRAM

SuMont Productions, Inc. is developing a program for children that will involve schools and communities throughout the New York City area. The program will target children who do not have easy access to fitness activities. Learning step aerobics will help these young people develop their coordination and inspire in them an appreciation of the value of exercise. The research literature is full of support for consistent cardiovascular activity for growing boys and girls. For many children and adolescents, especially girls, consistent cardiovascular exercise is minimal at best and non-existent at worst. As children approach adolescence, developing a positive body image through exercise provides them with a significant source of self-esteem and self-confidence. Children will enjoy this great exercise program that they can share with their parents. Step aerobics can be an important and fun family pastime. Children Program at the Bellevue Hospital, New York City.

SuMont Productions, Inc., along with the L-Boogie Team, has been working with the Children's Obesity Program at Bellevue Hospital Center.  Hampton and the L-Boogie steppers participate in a weekly educational group for kids who struggle with their weight.  L-Boogie has introduced step aerobics to this group and has participated in their transformation to more active, healthier, and more physically engaged young people.   The kids, their parents, and their health care providers all have had overwhelmingly enthusiastic responses to the program.  SuMont Productions, Inc. has been asked to expand their community step aerobics program to reach a wider range of Bellevue patients, and will be doing so in the coming months.

Most recently, the L-Boogie Team has been chosen to lead the walkers’ warm-up for the 11th Annual Pediatric Cancer Foundation Walkathon in New York’s Riverside Park on April 17th 2005.
